PRACTICES:  STARTING 11/6/23

Mondays: (Mixed-Everyone) 6:15-7:45PM

Tuesday: (Ages 5-7) 6:15-7:15PM

Wednesdays: (Novice) 6:15-7:45PM

Thursdays: (Advanced-ages 12 and up, plus invites)  6:15-7:45

If Blue Valley Schools are closed for holidays or weather, there will be no practice.  Reminders will be emailed.

The Blue Valley Wrestling Club is planning for the best season to date.  We have a mix of returning wrestlers along with those that are new to the sport.   The sign-up cost will be $125 and will include coaching during practice at Blue Valley North West High School and at optional tournaments.  A state wrestling card will also be included.  Practices will be mixed on Mondays, Tuesday Tinies, Novice on Wednesdays, and Advanced on Thursdays.  The mixed includes everyone and the Tinies group are the ages 5-7.  Novice group includes children with less than 2 years of tournament experience and up to age 11. The advanced group includes kids that are 12 and up, plus those who receive a special invite.  DO MORE & BE MORE!  A minm. of 2 practices/week is recommended for the Novice/Advanced group.  Headgear and wrestling shoes are encouraged for practice.  Singlets are required for tournaments.  Tournaments are optional.  Scrimmages are also optional and require headgear, gym clothes or singlet, plus shoes.

AGE GROUPS:  The Blue Valley Wrestling Club encourages youth ages 5 to 14 to join.  A positive wrestling experience will follow your child into his or her high school years.  With the increased interest of girls in wrestling (even separate girls division in many states, colleges and Olympics), our program is also open to girls who have interest in wrestling. Wrestling builds character, pride and discipline. 

COMPETITION:  Wrestlers compete in tournaments based on their age and weight. There are novice and advanced level tournaments depending on the wrestler’s skill and experience.  Tournaments are usually on Saturdays and some Sundays during the months of December, January, February and March.  The tournament host wrestling clubs charge an entry fee for the weekend tournaments.
